Germany-based car maker BMW (one of its prototype cars pictured) will double the prize money awarded to winners of New York City’s BigApps 2.0 event for entrepreneurs and offer two to three of them space in its BMW i Ventures incubator.
BMW i Ventures was set up as a $100m corporate venturing fund last month and its first deal was backing a previous winner of BigApps, My City Way, which provides users with information on public transportation, parking availability and local entertainment.
