BNI Video, a software company backed by three US media and network equipment groups, has raised more than $16m at the launch of its video service provider software.
Cisco, Comcast Interactive Capital, the corporate venturing unit of media group Comcast, and Time Warner Cable were the industry investors in the consortium, which included venture capital firms Charles River Ventures and Castile Ventures.
Mike LaJoie, chief technology officer of Time Warner Cable, said: "BNI’s technology is simple, flexible and scalable."
BNI video was launched last year.
