Brainlab senses Jan’s potential

Jan Medical, a US-based developer of a portable brain sensing system to diagnose strokes, has raised $3.15m in its series A round led by Germany-based peer Brainlab.

Brainlab earlier in the month acquired Israel-based Voyant Health and Joseph Doyle, Brainlab’s chief financial officer, said: "At Brainlab a core mission is to enhance patient images with digital data from many sources, which is why we were so impressed with Jan Medical’s novel technology. Jan Medical is introducing an entirely new field of diagnostics that can impact everything from patient triage to surgical treatment."
