Breathe Technologies, a US-based respiratory therapy developer backed by medical group Johnson & Johnson, has raised $12.7m in funding from a total of 63 investors, according to a securities filing.
Founded in 2005, Breathe is the creator of a palm-sized portable respirator system called NIOV. It has raised approximately $62m according to press reports and regulatory filings.
Johnson and Johnson took part in Breathe’s $23m series C round in 2010 together with DAG Ventures, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Delphi Ventures and Synergy Ventures, investing through its corporate venturing arm, Johnson & Johnson Development Corp.
