US-based digital recruitment assistant developer BrightHire has raised $20.5m in a series B round featuring video communication platform developer Zoom.
The round was led by 01 Advisors and included Index Ventures, while Zoom made its investment through its $100m Zoom Apps Fund. The round brings the company’s total funding to $36m.
BrightHire’s software is built on top of Zoom and uses data from video interviews to make hiring decisions. It serves as a real-time assistant, recording, transcribing and analysing interviews in a way ostensibly designed to make the hiring process faster more effective and more equitable.
Index Ventures led BrightHire’s $12.5m series A round, in May 2021, participating with Next Play Ventures, FlyBridge Capital, Ground Up Ventures and private investors including Laszlo Bock, Rosanna Durruthy, Nick Mehta, Gokul Rajaram, Dan Yates, Erica Aliota, Zane Lackey and Tom Monahan.
The company had previously raised $3m in a September 2020 seed round led by FlyBridge Capital and backed by Ground Up Ventures, RTP Ventures, Haystack, Silas Capital, Rabil Ventures, J Ventures and several unnamed individuals.
