Buddybuild welcomes old friend Bloomberg back for series A

Bloomberg Beta, the early-stage investment subsidiary of media company Bloomberg, has taken part in a $7.6m series A round for Canada-based app testing platform Buddybuild.

The round, led by venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers, included Amplify Partners and First Round Capital. It comes after a $1.2m seed round backed by Bloomberg Beta, Amplify Partners, First Round and assorted angel investors in February this year.

Buddybuild launched its mobile app development and testing platform, which includes continuous integration and delivery, user feedback and crash reporting services, in October 2015.

Dennis Pilarinos, Buddybuild’s founder and CEO, said: “At Buddybuild, we are squarely focused on creating a comprehensive build, test, deploy and user feedback platform that developers love, and use to build better apps, faster.

“We are humbled to secure our series A from Kleiner Perkins and have all of our existing investors participate in this round of financing. It means we have the resources to grow and support developers everywhere.”
