US-based energy optimisation software developer BuildingIQ, backed by Siemens, is looking to close its series B by the end of 2014 in order to drive growth, Bloomberg has reported.
Previous investors include Germany-based Siemens Venture Capital, the venture capital arm of industrial manufacturer Siemens, venture firm Aster Capital, which is backed by corporates Schneider Electric, Alstom and Solvay, and private equity firm Paladin Capital Group.
Founded in 2009, BuildingIQ provides software that can help businesses save substantially on energy costs by increasing energy efficiency.
The company aims to raise a series B that is “consistent” with the $9m series A it closed in January 2013, and will use the funding to expand its marketing and sales activities.
