Burka joins Google Ventures

Daniel Burka, co-founder of Milk, a mobile incubator, has joined Google Ventures, the corporate venturing unit of search engine Google, as a design partner.

Design partners work in the Google Ventures design studio, which works with portfolio companies on product design and user research. The firm also announced a designer in residence program in October in which designers work with startups for a few months.

Google purchased Milk for $15m in March this year. Co-founder Kevin Rose moved to Google Ventures in May.

Daniel Burka has previously worked with web companies Digg, a social content website founded by Rose, and Mozilla, the company behind Firefox. Burka also co-founded Canadian web agency Silverorange.
