Israel-based autonomous farming technology developer Blue White Robotics (BWR) received $37m in yesterday in a series B round featuring insurance services firm Clal Insurance Enterprises Holdings.
Private equity firm Insight Partners and venture capital firm Entrée Capital co-led the round, which included Jesselson Family Office, Peregrine VC and Regah Ventures. The company has raised $50m in total since it was founded in 2017.
BWR is working on air and ground fleets of devices such as unmanned aerial vehicles and robot tractors that enable farms to automate their operations, including disking, seeding and harvesting. The cash will be used to accelerate its technology implementation, further expand into the United States and increase global headcount.
Jesselson Investment led the company’s $10m series A round in September 2020, participating together with Peregrine VC, Entrée Capital and an unnamed investment firm led by entrepreneur Ran Sarig. Entrée Capital had already provided $1.5m at an unspecified date.
Ben Alfi, co-founder and CEO of BWR, said: “Our amazing team is excited by this renewed commitment to solve the many issues facing our modern farmer and the food system as a whole.”
