Previously, Cabadak spent more than four years as a senior investment analyst at the umbrella venture unit, Deutsche Bahn Digital Ventures, where he conducted strategic investments. Most recently, the unit backed drone infrastructure provider Skyports last month.

The news comes after Paulina Banszerus‘s recent promotion at Schenker Ventures, where she now leads the team as head of venture capital. The unit also appointed a new investment manager, Helen Han.

Cabadak had received a master‘s degree in quantitative finance at Vienna University of Economics and Business in 2016, the year before his 17-month stint as junior finance manager at internet and VC firm Rocket Internet.

Formed in 2021, Schenker Ventures provides funding for logistics and supply chain technology companies. Its recent deals include industrial on-demand service provider Laserhub, which recently closed a series B round.

Regarding Cabadak‘s new appointment, Banszerus said: “For months, I ended each of our phone calls with the words: ‘By the way, I’d love to have you on our team.’ Mehmet has amazed me since the second one with his vast knowledge of terms, transactions, markets and business models.”
