Capgemini Ventures, the corporate venture capital subsidiary of France-headquartered consultancy Capgemini, has launched a €90m ($102m) fund in partnership with venture capital firm ISAI.
Capgemini will identify early-stage business-to-business (B2B) companies across the world that are developing infrastructure, software and platform-as-a-service offerings, and ISAI will invest out of the ISAI Cap Venture fund with the $102m figure representing its targeted close.
ISAI Cap Venture will participate in financing rounds from series A to C stage, providing 15 to 20 startups with roughly $1m to $5.5m per deal. Capgemini itself had not disclosed details of any earlier investments.
Jean-David Chamboredon, ISAI’s executive chairman, said: “Capgemini will act as the business partner and growth accelerator for this portfolio of startups and scale-ups. We will be, as always, the venture capital investor structurally aligned with the interests of the young companies and their shareholders.”
Lucia Sinapi-Thomas, Capgemini Ventures’ executive director, added: “This partnership with ISAI will enable Capgemini Ventures to be operational immediately in the venture capital ecosystem and to focus on the selection of investment opportunities and synergies creation with the startups and scale-ups in the portfolio.”
