Singapore-based Capillary Technologies, a developer of a cloud-based marketing platform, has raised $14m in series B funding from return backers venture capital firm Sequoia Capital and investment firm Northwest Venture Partners.
Capillary helps retailers engage with customers through mobile, social and in-store channels. The funding will be used to grow its partnership ecosystem and improve its cloud-based integrated marketing platform.
American Express Ventures, the corporate venture capital unit of financial services provider American Express, invested $4.5m in Capillary in February 2014.
Capillary is also backed by Qualcomm Ventures, the corporate venturing unit for telecommunications equipment manufacturer Qualcomm, which participated in a $17m series A round in 2012 that also featured Sequoia and Norwest.
