Caremerge, the US-based developer of a communications platform for senior care, raised $14m on Wednesday from investors including GE Ventures, the corporate venturing subsidiary of industrial conglomerate General Electric.
Insight Venture Partners led the round, which also featured healthcare technology provider Cambia Health Solutions and Ziegler LinkAge Longevity Fund, a subsidiary of senior care organisation Like-age, as well as Arsenal Venture Partners and angel investor Grażyna Kulczyk.
Caremerge’s platform allows care providers to access relevant information from other involved parties about patients. The platform offers integration with electronic health records, clinical and compliance software and hospital discharge data.
Harley Miller, vice-president at Insight, and Dan Hermann, senior managing director and head of investment banking at investment bank Ziegler, will join Caremerge’s board of directors.
Caremerge previously raised $4m in January 2015 from lead investor Cambia Health Solutions, GE Ventures, Ziegler LinkAge Longevity Fund, Generator Ventures and Arsenal Venture Partners. Kulczyk and one unnamed angel investor provided $2.1m in series A funding in 2013.
