US-based car market CarWoo on 14 December doubled its venture funding to $12m from a syndicate including cable company Comcast’s corporate venturing unit and hired Rudi Thun, formerly general manager of AOL Autos, as chief operating officer.
Alongside Comcast Ventures in the $6m series B round were venture capital firms Interwest Partners and Blumberg Capital, and angel investor Raymond Tonsing.
Michael Yang from Comcast Ventures is on CarWoo’s board.
CarWoo got its first seed funding from Y-Combinator incubator in 2009 before raising about $6.3m last year.
