Yandex prices for IPO success
Yandex sold more than 52 million ordinary shares at $25 each compared to a planned $22 to $24 range, for an initial market cap of about $8bn before a 55% first day pop in its share price.
WPP joins angels in Shacho
Josh James, former founder of software provider Omniture, which was sold to Adobe for $1.8bn in 2009, started Sacho as a business intelligence technology start-up, which has yet to launch. WPP invested $25m in Omniture in January 2009 as part of a strategic partnership and sold its shares for $61.3m in its September exit to Adobe.
SMSC crosses over to BridgeCo
In 2004, chip makers Intel and Infineon’s corporate venturing fund participated in BridgeCo’s $16m series C financing round, with Intel Capital having previously invested in its B round.
