Cato institutes $30m series B

Israel-based enterprise network developer Cato Networks secured $30m on Tuesday in a series B round that included Singtel Innov8, the corporate venture capital arm of telecom company Singapore Telecommunications.

VC firm Greylock Partners led the round, which also featured US Venture Partners (USVP), Aspect Ventures and Cato Network founders Shlomo Kramer and Gur Shatz. It follows a $20m series A round co-led by USVP and Aspect in June 2015.

Founded in 2015, Cato has built a cloud-based networking and security platform that can connect people and data across all of an enterprise’s locations. The funding will enable the startup to market its Cato Cloud product internationally.

Shlomo Kramer, who is also Cato’s CEO, said: “Cato offers a totally new way to cut the cost and complexity of legacy, on-premise networking and security solutions by delivering them as a holistic, agile and scalable cloud service.

“Cato is paving the way for a new, scalable and simplified networking and security platform for enterprises of all sizes, and offers lucrative opportunities for channel partners in the networking and security domains.”
