Marin Cauvas (pictured), formerly an investor at Santander InnoVentures, the corporate venturing unit for Spain-headquartered financial services firm Santander, has joined fintech-focused venture capital and advisory firm Anthemis Group.
Prior to joining Anthemis as an investment associate, Cauvas was based in the UK, but he has now relocated to Lisbon, Portugal. He will be responsible for identifying and executing potential investment opportunities.
Cauvas joined InnoVentures in December 2016 after his 16-month stint as a vice-president of alternative finance at UK-based investment banking firm Liberum Capital.
In 2017, Anthemis hired Tee Pruitt from InnoVentures, Pruitt having led InnoVentures’ investments in business finance platform Kabbage and invoicing platform provider Tradeshift.
In other moves, Alan Greco joined Anthemis at its headquarters in London this month as a venture capital investor. He was hired from insurer Allianz, where he had been an investor at its digital investment unit Allianz X and was involved in its investments in Bima, Lemonade and Go-Jek.
