CCC holding company warms up with FIEE

CCC Holdings Europe, an Italy-based fund backing heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) companies, has added €18m from corporate- and state-backed Fondo Italiano per l’Efficienza Energetica (FIEE).

Founded in 2014, FIEE, launched its Italian Energy Efficiency Fund II (IEEF II) in August with a first close of €127.5m with limited partners including European Investment Bank and insurer Aviva.

CCC’s original investors include Italmobiliare with a target of €75m to €100m by early 2021.

Raffaele Mellone, founder and co-CEO of FIEE, said: “CCC offers IEEF II a unique opportunity to invest in leading energy efficiency and natural refrigerant technologies in the space of heating, air conditioning and refrigeration, which is by far the largest consumer of energy for buildings.”

Andrea Marano, the other co-CEO, added: “CCC’s first two companies, Enex and Roen Est., have energy-efficiency leading technologies in key products such as refrigeration racks, air conditioning chillers, heat pumps and heat exchangers.”

Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe was legal counsel for CCC. Gianni Origoni Grippo Cappelli & Partners acted as advisers to FIEE.
