Ceros designs $14m series C round

CNF Investments, the investment firm affiliated with construction firm Clark Enterprises, has participated in a $14m series C round for US-based digital content creation platform Ceros.

Venture capital firm Greenspring Associates led the round, which included Grotech Ventures, Sigma Prime Ventures, StarVest Partners, Greycroft and Silicon Valley Bank (SVB).

Founded in 2013, Ceros has developed a cloud-based software platform that enables digital marketing teams and designers to create interactive content without using code or needing to have any web development experience.

The company’s client roster includes airline operator United Airlines, energy drink producer Red Bull, computing technology provider IBM, digital media company Mashable and sports franchises such as American football teams the Baltimore Ravens and Detroit Lions.

Ceros chief executive Simon Berg said: “This additional funding will allow us build on our core belief that emotion matters and digital experience matters.

“The new capital also enables further innovation around our core Ceros Studio platform, strategic acquisitions and a continued nurturing of our product and services ecosystem.”

Ceros has now raised approximately $30.5m in total, having received $8m in a 2016 series B round led by Grotech Ventures that also featured CNF Investments, Sigma Prime, StarVest, Greycroft and SVB, the latter three having also backed a $6.2m series A round in 2014.
