Qualcomm Ventures has invested $900,000 in ChaCha, a US-based provider of online answers to questions.
ChaCha raised $3m, including the $900,000 in outstanding warrants from Qualcomm Ventures in the extension to the round led by venture capital firms VantagePoint Venture Partners and Rho Ventures in October.
Nagraj Kashyap, vice-president at Qualcomm Ventures, said: "We have tracked ChaCha closely since the beginning and have been impressed by its recent, accelerated growth.
"ChaCha’s service has a natural consumer appeal and we think the company is well positioned to engage audiences worldwide through its innovative answers platform."
In December, ChaCha had nearly one million unique visitors to its website and had two million mobile SMS text questions in one day. ChaCha.com is the fastest-growing website in the Top 100 as measured by comScore with 116% growth last year and a quadrupling of its online revenue.
Since its launch five years ago, ChaCha has raised about $75m.
