Chevron Technology Ventures, the corporate venturing division of US-listed oil major Chevron, has backed a second phase of research by its local biofuels portfolio comapny, LS9.
The research is for LS9’s platform technology to produce specific pure hydrocarbon products.
Ed Dineen, executive president of LS9, said: "We are hopeful this program will enable us to bring new fuel technologies and products to the marketplace in addition to our current UltraClean Diesel."
As well as Chevron Technology Ventures, LS9 is backed by venture capital firms Flagship Ventures, Khosla Ventures and Lightspeed Venture Partners and mutual fund manager BlackRock.
