US-based sales meeting automation tool developer Chili Piper secured $18m in series A funding on Tuesday from investors including Gradient Ventures, the artificial intelligence investment vehicle for internet technology provider Google.
Base10 Partners, the venture capital firm co-founded by former corporate venturer Adeyemi Ajao, also took part in the round, as did technology investment firm Flashpoint Venture Capital. TJ Nahigian, a managing partner at Base10, will join Chili Piper’s board of directors in connection with the round.
Founded in 2016, Chili Piper has developed an appointment booking app dubbed Chili Piper Concierge that helps simplify the scheduling process for sales representatives, integrating a user’s digital calendar and email inbox to organise meetings with a prospective customer.
The cash will be used to further develop Chili Piper Concierge to help sales teams remotely operate and grasp consumer behaviour trends. The company, which had raised $3m in an April 2019 seed round led by Flashpoint Venture Capital, will also increase headcount in marketing and sales.
