US-based healthcare transportation provider Circulation received $10.5m on Tuesday in a series A round co-led by healthcare services firm Providence Service Corporation and venture capital firm Flare Capital Partners.
Echo Health Ventures, a joint venture between health insurance provider Cambia Health Solutions and investment firm Mosaic Health Solutions, also participated in the round, as did Intermountain Healthcare Innovation Fund, the investment arm of healthcare provider Intermountain Healthcare.
The round was filled out by care provider Boston Children’s Hospital, health insurer Humana, VC firm NextGen Venture Partners and an undisclosed investor Circulation described as “the world’s leading healthcare diagnostics company”.
Circulation has built a logistics and transportation platform for non-emergency healthcare, enabling transport to be arranged safely and efficiently. The company, which serves about 1,000 hospitals, clinics and other healthcare facilities, will use the funding to support growth.
James Lindstrom, chief executive of Providence Service Corporation, said: “We see substantial opportunity in Circulation’s on-demand, patient-centric digital transportation platform, particularly for integrated healthcare facilities and systems.”
