Cisco and KDDI mix with Moxtra

Moxtra, a US-based technology company which provides a mobile content collaboration service, has raised a $10m first round of funding from US-based networking equipment company Cisco, Japan-based telecommunications company KDDI, China-based technology incubator Innovation Works and the personal investment arm of Barry Sternlicht, chairman and chief executive officer of private investment firm Starwood Capital.

The funding will be used to accelerate the company’s platform development and expand marketing efforts.

Subrah S. Iyar, co-founder and chief executive officer of Moxtra, said: “Moxtra V2.0 delivers a rich conversation experience to users by creating continuity and context across content, through powerful interaction capabilities. The commitment from our investors will enable Moxtra to deliver and expand on this promise.”
