US-based cloud data storage provider CTERA Networks closed a $25m series C round on Wednesday backed by investors including networking technology provider Cisco.
Venture capital firms Bessemer Venture Partners, Benchmark Capital and Venrock also participated in the round, the latter two having invested with Cisco in CTERA Network’s $11m series B round in March 2012. CTERA’s 2009 series A round raised $9m.
Liran Eshel, co-founder and chief executive of CTERA Networks, said: “CTERA was founded on the belief that organisations will need to control their cloud agenda by delivering secure storage services from the clouds of their choice.
“Every day, we’re inspired by our enterprise and service provider customers who are enabling users to modernise the way they sync, serve and protect data.”
The capital will be used to fund CTERA’s global expansion. Adam Fisher, partner at Bessemer, will join CTERA Networks’ board of directors.
