Networking technology producer Cisco has announced its intent to purchase one of its portfolio companies, US-based customer experience software provider CloudCherry, for an undisclosed sum.
CloudCherry produces customer experience management software that includes tools such as predictive analytics and customer-journey mapping. It will be integrated with Cisco’s Contact Center Solutions division post-acquisition.
The deal will follow about $16m in funding. Chiratae Ventures (then known as IDG Ventures India) and Chennai Angels supplied $1m in 2015 before Chiratae joined Cisco unit Cisco Investments and Vertex Ventures to provide $6m in funding the following year.
The company subsequently raised $9m in a September 2018 round led by Pelion Venture Partners and backed by Cisco Investments, Vertex Ventures and Chiratae Ventures.
Vasili Triant, general manager for Cisco Contact Center Solutions, said: “We are thrilled to add CloudCherry’s market leading customer experience management technology to our collaboration portfolio.
“This is the next step in realising our vision for cognitive collaboration in the contact centre, enabling the delivery of the best, most personalised customer experiences, ultimately improving customer loyalty and lifetime value.”
