India-based payment services provider Citrus Payment Solutions has raised $5.5m in a round that included Exontext Asia, a Japan-based online payment company, and Beenos Asia, a subsidiary of e-commerce company Netprice, according to Next Big What.
Sequoia Capital, the venture capital firm that invested $2m in Citrus Pay in 2012, also took part in the round. The latest round of funding brings Citrus’ funding to date to $7.3m.
Citrus Pay was founded in April 2011 by Satyen V Kothari and Jitendra Gupta. It crossed 100,000 transactions processed per month in November 2012, and in April this year the company passed two million transactions processed per month.
