DataPad, a US-based developer of data integration technology, has been acquired by big data company Cloudera, providing an exit to Google Ventures, the corporate venturing unit of internet company Google.
Cloudera stated it had “acquired the technology assets of DataPad” but has not disclosed financial terms. The acquisition will enable Cloudera to strengthen its enterprise data hub by offering simplifying data processing and analysis technology.
DataPad received $1.7m in a seed round in May this year that was backed by Google Ventures, Andreessen Horowitz, Ludlow Ventures, SV Angel and Accel Partners.
Peter Cooper-Elllis, vice president of engineering for Cloudera, said: “We are thrilled to have the DataPad team join Cloudera and look forward to their contributions to the Cloudera roadmap.
“We have long been supporters of the DataPad team and have been impressed with their engineering work. Together, we possess some of the best talent in the data engineering sphere.”
