US-based network security technology producer CloudKnox Security has received $12m from investors including Dell Technologies Capital, the corporate venturing arm of computing hardware manufacturer Dell.
Sorenson Ventures, the venture capital arm of private equity firm Sorenson Capital, led the round, which took the company’s overall funding to nearly $23m. It included cybersecurity-focused fund ClearSky Security and VC firm Foundation Capital.
Founded in 2016, CloudKnox has developed a cybersecurity platform that guards enterprise cloud infrastructure networks against insider threats.
The software collects and analyses user access privileges to identify over-privileged users and place activity-based controls on those who may be putting company resources at risk. The funding will be utilised to expand the company’s customer base and speed up product development.
CloudKnox had previously raised $10.8m in a late 2018 round led by ClearSky Security that also featured Dell Technologies Capital and Foundation Capital.
