US-based computer development software provider Codefresh has closed an $8m series B round led by technology and software developer Microsoft’s corporate venturing fund, M12.
Online lender CreditEase’s Israel Innovation Fund also backed the round, as did venture capital firms Viola Ventures and Hillsven.
Codefresh has developed a continuous integration and delivery platform that enables computer developers to automate the process of auditing and deploying applications that use the open source Kubernetes protocol.
Kubernetes is regarded as a more efficient tool for orchestrating increasingly demanding software applications which can be composed of hundreds of containerised objects used to ensure cross-compatibility between different computing environments.
Codefresh has now raised $15.1m in funding altogether, it said, including $7m from a 2016 round led by Viola (then known as Carmel Ventures), with contributions from Hillsven, Streamlined Ventures and UpWest Labs, the accelerator from which Codefresh graduated in 2014.
