US-based behavioural analytics technology developer Cogito secured $5.5m on Tuesday in a series A round featuring Salesforce Ventures, enterprise software provider Salesforce.com’s corporate venturing unit.
The round was led by venture capital fund Romulus Capital and followed $1m in seed funding raised in December 2014, according to a regulatory filing.
Cogito’s Cogito Dialog application provides real-time behavioural analytics to improve engagement for customer service representatives. The company will use the funding to expand its sales, marketing and customer success teams.
Joshua Feast, Cogito’s CEO and founder, said: “Our core mission is to improve quality of life for the millions of phone professionals and the billions of customers they serve.
“Romulus Capital and Salesforce Ventures are the perfect partners to help us realise this ambition. Romulus’ proven experience working with analytics-driven companies like Cogito, combined with Salesforce’s leadership in the [customer relationship management] market, will help us accelerate our growth.”
