Benu Network, a US-based network equipment supplier which helps augment fixed and mobile broadband networks with wi-fi and small cells, has raised $26.6m series B funding led by venture capital firm Sutter Hill Ventures; existing investors, venture capital firm Spark Capital and Comcast Ventures, the venture capital affiliate of cable television company Comcast Corporation, also participated in the round.
Benu will use the funding to drive customer acquisition and accelerate its approach.
Previously, in May 2011, Benu Networks secured an undisclosed amount of investment from Comcast and Motorola Mobility Ventures, alongside venture capital firm Spark Capital Partners.
Stefan Dyckerhoff, Sutter Hill Ventures managing director, who joins Benu’s board of directors, said: “Benu’s disruptive approach for large-scale device management, session control and IP service intelligence solves a big networking problem for Wi-Fi and HetNet deployments and influenced our decision to invest in the company.”
Dave Callan, founder and chief executive officer of Benu Networks, said: “The next phase of Benu’s growth is to continue to gain market share with our unmatched solutions and maintain our strategic competitive advantage.”
