Cooliris, a US-based internet browser software company for sharing photos and video, has raised an undisclosed amount in funding from Docomo Capital, the $100m corporate venturing unit of Japan-based phone operator NTT Docomo.
The investment will help Cooliris expand in the Japanese market.
Last July, Cooliris raised $9.6m in its series C round from a consortium including Germany-based phone operator Deutsche Telekom’s T-Venture corporate venturing unit.
Venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers led this C round, which included peers DAG Ventures and Westly Group. Cooliris previously raised about $20m, according to data provider Crunchbase, and, in May, sold advertising technology company Adjitsu, a company it created, to Amobee, a start-up acquired by Singapore-based telecoms company SingTel for $321m.
