Cordial, a US-based email technology developer that graduated from advertising agency R/GA’s accelerator, has completed a $15m series B round led by growth capital firm PeakSpan Partners.
Venture capital firms Upfront Ventures and High Alpha also participated in the round, having supplied $6m of series A funding for Cordial in February 2017. The company’s earlier investors also include Ignite Farm.
Founded in 2014, Cordial has built an email and messaging platform intended to help sales staff use data more effectively. It will use the series B proceeds to enhance tools for the platform such as browser notifications and web forms,
Jeremy Swift, Cordial’s co-founder and chief executive, said: “The big four marketing clouds simply were not architected to anticipate the amount of customer data that marketers need to track, analyse and act on in real time.
“As the complexity and volume of customer data continues to grow, marketers’ need for an agile solution that enables personalised communication across channels will only increase. We are thrilled to partner with PeakSpan as we continue to scale our technology and grow our multichannel capabilities.”
Cordial was one of the 10 participants in the Connected Commerce Accelerator organised by R/GA subsidiary R/GA Ventures and shopping centre operator Westfield in August 2016. The group also included deep learning technology developer Clarifai and last-mile delivery service Darkstore.
