Clique Media, the US-based operator of a range of websites focusing on fashion and lifestyle, has raised $8m series B round led by e-commerce company Amazon, Business Insider reported yesterday.
The round included Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments, which acts as the corporate venturing subsidiary of media conglomerate Bertelsmann, Greycroft Partners, Lerer Hippeau Ventures, Advancit Capital, Mesa Ventures and Double M Partners.
Founded in 2006, the company originally consisted of a single website, Who What Wear, which provides fashion and style reviews together with links to online stores where consumers can buy the featured items.
Clique launched two additional websites in 2013, branching them together under the Clique brand.
Byrdie focuses on beauty topics such as make-up and hair, while MyDomaine offers lifestyle content such as home décor, travel and food. Both include links to e-commerce retailers to purchase the items.
The money will be used to open Clique offices in Australia this autumn, and the company additionally plans to expand to the UK, France and Italy. Part of the round will go towards improving its mobile offering
Clique previously raised a total of $5m from Greycroft, Lerer Hippeau, Advancit, Mesa, and Double M, according to Business Insider.
