Corporates kick in for Startupbootcamp Berlin accelerator

UK-based Startupbootcamp, which operates accelerators throughout Europe, is set to launch a new programme in Berlin and San Francisco that will focus on startups working in the areas of future transport and smart energy.

Sponsors for the accelerator include telecommunications company Nokia, industrial manufacturer Bosch, Castrol innoVentures, which acts as the corporate venturing unit for lubricant producer Castrol, computing company Cisco, automotive manufacturer Daimler, Germany-based utility EnBW and Nokia unit HERE.

The cross-continental programme will focus on the “connected and efficient mobility of people and goods,” and in particular startups focused on locations services, logistics, smart mobility, sustainable energy, data services and others.

Starting in early 2015, the three month programme will select the 10 best startups from across the globe. Successful appkicants will receive €15,000 ($21,000) and six months free office space in either Berlin’s Rainmaking Loft (a 100 square metre co-working space) or the yet to be acquired San Francisco office.
