Corporations breathe life into Air deal

Air, a US-based cloud collaboration tool for visual content cofounded by Stanford University graduates Shane Hegde and Tyler Strand, has raised $12m in its series A round from a consortium including media corporations Slack and WndrCo.

WndrCo is a media holding company founded by Jeffrey Katzenberg behind the Quibi short-form video service, and Slack runs its ventures fund under Jason Spinell.

Hedge fund Tiger Global led Air’s round, with participation from VCs Lerer Hippeau, Red Sea Ventures and Advancit Capital, as well as individual investors Jenny Fleiss (CEO, Rent the Runway), Brian Lee (former CEO, Honest Co), Kevin Weil (Instagram), David Lieb (Google Photos), and 30 Under 30 honorees Joe Thomas (CEO, Loom), Nic Jammet (CEO, Sweetgreen), and Jack Altman (CEO, Lattice).
