Japan-based multimedia services and creative agency Creek & River (C&R) has teamed up with startup incubator and accelerator operator 01Booster to launch an incubation scheme.
The Business Idea Commercialisation Program will fall under the auspices of Fukushima Tech Create, which promotes entrepreneurship in Fukushima, Japan.
Startups and individuals based in the city and the broader Tōhoku region of Japan have until August 11 to submit applications to the four-month program, which will run from September this year.
The initiative will focus on ideas related to areas including nuclear decommissioning; robotics and drones; energy, environment and recycling; agriculture, forestry and fisheries; medical and healthcare technology; and aerospace technology.
Some 30 participants will be able to take part in workshops and pitch events and get individualised mentoring from C&R professionals, leading up to a demo day set to take place in January 2021. Eligible entrepreneurs will have the possibility of receiving subsidies of up to ¥10m ($95,000 at current rates) to carry out research and development and market research.
01Booster already has multiple similar partnerships in place with corporates including Ajinomoto Group Accelerator, Shogakukan Accelerator and JXTG Group Accelerator.
