Quiet Partners, a fund backed by Japanese insurance companies, listed investment houses, and listed pharmaceutical companies, has invested Y1.2bn ($m) to acquire two-thirds of CSK Venture Capital, the corporate venturing unit of Japan-based technology company CSK.
Renamed Whiz Partners, CSK will retain a one-third stake in its former corporate venturing unit.
Whiz said its first fund would be Y5bn to Y20bn and invested mainly invest in biotechnology and healthcare early-stage deals as well as PIPEs (Private Investment in Public Equity) in listed companies worldwide with market cap smaller than Y50bn.
