Lisa Lambert, who previously worked at corporate venturing units National Grid Partners and Intel Capital, has joined US philanthropic organisation George Kaiser Family Foundation.
Formed in 1999 by US billionaire and businessperson George Kaiser, the foundation focuses on causes related to childhood poverty and early childhood education.
As chief investment officer of private markets at George Kaiser Family Foundation, Lambert will manage a $2.8bn private investment portfolio and lead strategic technology investments. Among her tasks, she will open an office in Los Gatos, California, and expand the foundation’s team.
Lambert began her CVC career at Intel Capital, part of chipmaker Intel. She began backing technology startups in 1999 as an investment director for the unit’s $253m Intel 64 Investment Fund.
In 2015 Lambert helped create Intel Capital’s $300m Diversity Fund, where she was vice president and managing director for over a year. She was promoted to vice president and managing director of software and services, a role she held for more than six years before she departed from the firm.
Lambert spent two years at clean technology VC firm Westly Group as managing partner before moving back to CVC by launching electric utility National Grid’s $250m corporate venture and open innovation arm, National Grid Partners, in 2018.
During her nearly six-year stint at National Grid Partners, Lambert was part of the GCV Powerlist five times. She left the unit in August this year and worked as an interim chief executive for oil and gas company Vital Energy.
