CyberAgent Ventures, a corporate venturing subsidiary of Japan-based internet group CyberAgent, has invested in Clever Advertising, a Vietnam-based advertising marketing service for enterprises.
In April, CyberAgent Ventures backed PT Tokopedia, the biggest online shopping mall service in Indonesia with more than 7,000 shops and 150,000 listed products having done a similar deal in 2009 with Vatgia.com, the largest peer in Vietnam.
Also in April, CyberAgent Ventures backed Taiwan-based HongKu Info, which operates iPeen.com, an online restaurant information media.
HongKu’s deal was made through CA-JAIC China Internet Fund II jointly managed by CyberAgent Ventures out of its Beijing, China, office and venture capital firm Japan Asia Investment.
CyberAgent Ventures opened a branch in Shenzhen, its third office in China, after Beijing and Shanghai.
