Viracor-IBT Laboratories, a portfolio company of private equity firm Ampersand Capital Partners, has agreed to acquire the assets of Cylex, a US–based maker of in vitro diagnostic products for improving immunity in transplant medicine, for an undisclosed amount.
In March 2007, Cylex raised $20.5m in its series C round from Siemens Venture Capital, the corporate venturing unit of the eponymous Germany-based industrial conglomerate, and co-leaders Channel Medical Partners and Canaan Partners, which are both venture capital firms.
Cylex raised $6m in a series A round and $6.4m in its B round and said its shareholders also included Switzerland-based drugs maker Roche and VC firm First Analysis.
