South Korea-headquartered internet group Naver’s startup accelerator, D2 Startup Factory (D2SF), has invested undisclosed amounts in four technology companies, Yonhap has reported.
The companies in question are South Korea-based artificial intelligence-equipped breast cancer diagnosis system developer Huray Positive, genomic data analytics technology provider Ichrogene and Alzheimer’s disease detection technology developer N.Cer, and Israel-based gamified aural training platform developer SoundGym.
Launched in 2015, D2SF has been supporting entrepreneurial projects on behalf of Naver. The scheme concentrates on investing in tech developers from seed to series A stage, with the possibility of eventual mergers and acquisitions.
The initiative has received more than 2,000 submissions to date and its current portfolio has 39 startups including the four most recent investments. The latest application period opened in December 2019 and will continue through March this year.
Yang Sang-whan, the Naver official who oversees D2SF, said: “Digital healthcare is one of the fastest-growing sectors in the global market. We will continue to support them so that they can further grow and explore ways to grow together.”
