Japan-based IT services firm NEC Corporation’s NEC Orchestrating Future Fund has reached a $140m final close. The fund has contributions from corporate backers NTT Finance Corporation, Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance and Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank as well as Japan Industrial Partners and Fund Corporation for the Overseas Development of Japan’s ICT and Postal Services.

Nassau Re/Imagine, the incubator scheme run by US-based reinsurance service Nassau Re, has formed TalentBridge23 Incubator Program, a six-month initiative targeting insurance technology developers. IT services groups CGI and LTIMindtree are joint sponsors of the programme along with University of Connecticut and University of Hartford.

M&A

V Ventures, a subsidiary of investment group Thoresen Thai Agencies, is set to pay $100m in digital assets and cash to buy a 90% stake in Zipmex, a Singapore-based cryptocurrency exchange backed by peer Coinbase, financial services firm Bank of Ayudha, advertising agency Master Ad Public and outdoor media group Plan B Media, Bloomberg has reported. It had raised $62m in funding as of March this year.
