E-commerce firm PChome has co-led a series A-plus round of undisclosed size for Singapore-based on-demand logistics provider Pickupp today that took its total funding to $15m. The round was co-led by venture capital firm Cornerstone Ventures and included Drive Catalyst, a vehicle for conglomerate Far Eastern Group, as well as real estate developer Swire Properties, conglomerate Jardine Matheson, logistics service provider Zipx and Cathay Venture. The company’s series A round, in November 2020, also featured Swire.
Chemical and life sciences technology producer SK Chemicals provided an undisclosed amount of funding for South Korea-based drug discovery technology provider Standigm on Friday. SK Chemicals parent SK Holdings and Kakao Ventures, the investment arm of internet group Kakao, took part in a $44.5m round for Standigm in March this year co-led by SKS PE and Daishin Private Equity that included featured financial services firm KDB Bank, Asset One, Atinum Investment, DSC Investment, InterVest, LB Investment and Wonik Investment Partners, taking its total funding to over $67m.
Mapped, the US-based creator of a smart building management system, has secured $6.5m in a funding round co-led by Allegion Ventures, the strategic investment arm of security product manufacturer Allegion, Dot.LA reported last month. Property technology-focused VC firm MetaProp co-led the round, which included Singtel Innov8, the corporate VC subsidiary of telecommunications firm Singtel, as well as Greycroft and Animo Ventures. The company had previously raised $3m according to Dot.LA, half of which came in February 2020, according to a securities filing.
Educa Corporation, the Vietnam-based owner of English language learning app Edupia, has received ‘several million dollars’ from eWTP Technology Innovation Fund, an investment vehicle backed by e-commerce group Alibaba, DealStreetAsia reported today. EWTP’s ReDefine Capital Fund has acquired a 12% stake in the company, according to a regulatory filing in January this year.
Transparent, the Spain-based operator of a data intelligence software platform for the holiday home industry, increased its overall funding to $2.8m on Friday with an investment of undisclosed size by JetBlue Technology Ventures, the corporate venturing vehicle for air carrier JetBlue Airways. The company has not revealed details of its earlier funding but its investors include K Fund, Highgate Ventures and Kima Ventures.
US-based esports event manager Community Gaming completed a $2.3m seed round on Saturday featuring mobile game publisher Animoca Brands, blockchain game developer Dapper Labs and Hashed, an affiliate of automotive component manufacturer Wanxiang. The round was led by CoinFund and included Multicoin Capital, 1kx, Warburg Serres, Signum Growth Capital, Thirty Five Ventures, WorkPlay Ventures, Play Ventures and angel investors including Kevin Chou. The company said blockchain software provider ConsenSys had led a pre-seed round of undisclosed size for it in mid-2020.
