US-based digital home and car insurance provider Branch has raised $147m in a series C round featuring insurer American Family’s corporate venturing arm, American Family Ventures. The round was led by Weatherford Capital and included asset manager Hudson Structured Capital Management’s HSCM Ventures unit, Acrew, Anthemis, Gaingels, Greycroft, Narya, SignalFire and Tower Ventures’ Tower IV fund.
Health insurance provider Anthem, pharmacy benefit manager Optum and pharmacy chain operator CVS Health have taken part in a $140m round for CareBridge, a US-based provider of home and community-driven healthcare services. Oak HC/FT led the round, investing alongside HLM Venture Partners, while Optum and CVS were represented by Optum Ventures and CVS Health Ventures respectively.
Public markets
Anycolor, the Japan-based virtual influencer management service also known as Ichikara, listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange today, providing exits for several corporates. Its market capitalisation was over $1.2bn at the end of its first day trading, having risen more than three times from an estimated $344m. Diversified trading firm Itochu, social game publisher KLab, record label Sony Music Entertainment and Keihanna ATR, a collaboration between telecommunications firm KDDI and electrical component producer Sumitomo Electric, are among the company’s investors, as are Legend Capital, the VC firm spun off by conglomerate Legend Holdings, and financial services firm SBI’s SBI Investment unit (through its SBI AI & Blockchain Fund).
