India-based social networking service ShareChat has closed its latest round at $520m, having added $255m from internet technology provider Google, media conglomerate Bennett Coleman & Co and Singaporean state-owned investment firm Temasek. The round took the company’s valuation to $5bn, and included a $266m first close in December 2021 that featured Alkeon Capital, Temasek, HarbourVest, Moore Strategic Ventures and India Quotient.
M&A
Blockchain-equipped video game developer Animoca Brands invested approximately $38.9m to increase its stake in TinyTap, an Israel-based aggregator of user-generated educational content, from 3.7% to 84.1%, yesterday. TinyTap had previously raised a total of $13m from investors also including Aleph, Inimiti, Radiant Venture Capital, ReInvent VC and New York Angels.
Payment optimisation technology group Treasury Intelligence Solutions has paid an undisclosed sum to acquire Cashforce, a Belgium-based cashflow forecasting software provider backed by financial services firms Citi and Barclays through subsidiaries Citi Ventures and Barclays Accelerator respectively. Pamica and Volta Ventures were among the company’s other investors.
