BRI Ventures, the corporate venturing arm of Indonesian government-backed financial services firm Bank Rakyat Indonesia, reached the first close for its Sembrani Kiqani fund in June 2022, DealStreetAsia has reported. It is set to reach a $50m final close by the end of this year, according to founding CEO Nicko Widjaja.

Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has agreed to buy portfolio company FTX, a Bahamas-registered peer also backed by fellow exchange Coinbase, payment technology provider Circle and internet and communications group SoftBank, for an undisclosed amount.
