Farmers Fridge, a US-based supplier of fresh food to vending machines, has received $10m in funding from investors including packaged food maker Danone, Food Navigator-USA has reported.
Danone took part in the round through corporate venturing subsidiary Danone Ventures and was joined by Powerplant Ventures, a venture capital firm that targets plant-centric investments, and food-focused VC fund and accelerator Cleveland Avenue.
Founded in 2013, Farmers Fridge provides fridges that are stocked with salads and breakfasts it prepares itself with fresh ingredients. The machines are present in 75 locations and the company is lining up another 200.
