Japan-based home design curation website Iemo has been acquired by online gaming group DeNA, providing an exit to B Dash Ventures, the venture firm backed by a consortium of Japan-based corporates, Tech In Asia has reported.
DeNa has also acquired Peroli, the operator of a fashion curation platform called Mery that has an estimated 12 million monthly active users, for a joint $50m. Iemo, which has 1.5 million users, raised an undisclosed amount of funding from B Dash in April this year.
A spokesperson for DeNa said the acquisition was part of a “previously-announced strategy to bring digital innovation to offline industries,” adding that DeNA will focus on increasing the websites’ monthly users to 50 million with a few years.
